Tiwa Savage is the first African artist to perform at a British Monarch’s coronation.

Tiwa Savage, the reigning queen of Afro Beat, is set to make history once again, becoming the first African artist to perform at a British Monarch’s Coronation Concert. Okay, it has been 70 years since we had a coronation – the last one was June 2nd, 1953. So there were not many opportunities to get such a gig.

But it is a big deal in that the last people that performed at the last coronation look nothing like TIWA.

Curious to know which of her bangers she is going to perform. How long will her set be? Are you all going to be watching?

Tiwa Savage is renowned for her exceptional talent and unique blend of Afro Beat music, which has won her a legion of fans worldwide. Her invitation to perform at the coronation concert of King Charles is a testament to her unwavering commitment to her craft and her ability to transcend cultural barriers.

The coronation concert will be a star-studded event featuring some of the world’s most talented performers: Lionel Richie.

Tiwa Savage’s inclusion in the lineup recognizes the importance of African music and its impact on the global stage.

The British Monarchy wants to use this momentous occasion and diverse music to dispel some of the negative press they have received. They may not be very interested in woke culture, but they want to be less singular. I suppose they want to help British citizens from different cultures and backgrounds to feel included and buy into this British tradition.

Congratulations to Tiwa Savage on this historic achievement, and may she continue to inspire and entertain us with her exceptional talent and creativity.
But this is not without controversy. A list of British celebrities – Adele, Harry Styles, and Sir Elton John have all refused to perform for the King. The British Royal Family has had such a bashing thanks to Harry’s Book Spare, where he opened up about how dysfunctional his family is – what NOT a surprise? We all deal with some form of dysfunction in our families, why should the Royals be any different?

But, in honesty, many hope this coronation is the last, with the growing sentiment that the monarchy should be left in the past.

I am happy for Charles! When you spend your whole life being groomed for a position you want that day to come. Plus if what Harry is saying in his book Spare is of any truth – I believe Harry. – Charles is at the end of his rainbow and there was a pot of gold. We should all be so lucky to get our crown someday.
